My dear and lovely readers! Thank you for all your support over the past year. It's been surreal and amazing and completely and utterly nerve-wracking to become a debut author, and I'm pleased to say that I've survived! It feels like yesterday though but also like it's been one million years though it was only September 2018 when ​my first​ novel​, What The Woods Keep ​,​ was published in the US, ​closely ​follo​we​d​​ by a local publication in Australia and New Zealand. So many things to tell you about, so many book news to share! I'm back from a very eventful trip and now preparing for yet another trip that also promises to be eventful. Last month, I had a much needed holiday before I headed to the US for a bunch of events, including YALLWEST and my very first ever solo North American book signing event at Barnes & Noble. Welcome to my blog/website/platform everyone! 2018 has been quite a year! Thank you all who've stuck around as I've morphed from an anxious forthcoming author to an anxious published author. Plus, I'm now an anxious published author with another book on the way. And... an anxious published author who is writing more books and hopes to sell more books so that she can keep writing them. The cycle never ends. I won't lie to you: it's tough, this author gig. But I'm grateful. And happy. But It's TOUGH. Putting your first book out into the world is an experience like no other. I thought doing PhD was tough. Haha. I mean, yeah, it was, but... putting a book out is a totally different jam. It's finally here! It's done! My debut novel is out in the world and I'm not a published author! I'm overwhelmed! I'm feeling surreal! I'm so happy! Are there ever words to describe how grateful I am that readers, bloggers, reviewers, and booksellers took a chance on me, an unknown debut author? What can I even say to properly thank everyone who preordered my book, everyone who requested its early reader copies, everyone who talked it up, who reviewed it, who shouted about it on social media? Last month, I had an enormous amount of fun interviewing my fellow 2018 YA debut, Elizabeth Tammi for our regular Electric Eighteens Interview series. Each interview features two debut authors and is circulated in our closed group. It's a great way to get to know your fellow authors, share experiences and just talk up our books.
